Lacunae is one of several shorts in the feature film The Heyday of the Insensitive Bastards. Based on short stories from Robert Boswell's collection, seven vignettes explore the difference between fantasy and reality, memory and history, and the joy and agony of the human condition.

Featuring the the powerful and derisive words of iconographic writer May Swenson, this 'cinematic poem' follows a woman as she attempts to go through her daily makeup routine, unaware of an ominous presence that threatens to strip away her own humanity.

An ex-IRA member-turned-informer lives in hiding, fearful of being caught. When the love of his life tries to reunite with him, his intense paranoia destroys them both.
